Student Orientation Co-Director

Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI | 2020

Worked closely with the Assistant Director of Orientation to plan, organize and implement aspects of RISDs Orientation Programs during 2020 Summer/Fall. Assisted in the supervision of the overall orientation team and provided mentorship to orientation leaders and incoming students at RISD.

Leadership and Community Engagement Fellowship (LACE) 

Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI | 2019

As a Rhode Island School of Design, LACE Fellow, I had the opportunity to collaborate with other students to plan sustainable programming activities for MLK Elementary students in Rhode Island. We invited students to decorate resuable totebagsand participate in hands on arts activities inspired by the celebration of MLK.

Rhode Island School of Design Student Latinx Club, Mango Street 

Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI | 2019 - Current

When I first arriving at RISD, I noticed there was not an official club for Latinx students on campus. I sent out a poll to the student community if they would find this club helpful on campus and after receiving a large amount of positive requests it inspired me to begin the initative. I founded the Latinx Student Club at Rhode Island School of Design with the help of Jennifer Martinez and Michelle Collado. The first official Latinx Student Club, Mango Street event was called, ‘Mango Mixer’. This event had over 50+ students and faculty in attendance.

Rhode Island School of Design Project Open Door 

Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI | 2019 - Current

Project Open Door helps to increase access to high-quality arts learning and careers in art and design for Rhode Island's urban core city public high school students. I am currently a teacher assistant for high school students. 

DownCity Design AmeriCorps VISTA, Educator 

Providence, RI | 2020 - Current

As a AmeriCorps Summer VISTA, I had the opportunity to organize data and participate within educational programming for high school students. In Fall 2020, I am an educator for the Explore Design program where I help students through post-secondary educational mentorship.

Latino Arts Foundation, Summer Arts Mentorship 

Kansas City, MO | 2019 - Current

Latino Arts Foundation provides free access arts services for all youth in Kansas City, MO. As an arts mentor, I had the opportunity to create arts programming for K-12 students. I asked students to create their own piñata as it connects arts and culture within its art making.  

Latino Arts Foundation, High School Art/College Mentorship 

Kansas City, MO | 2020

As an high school arts and college mentor, I have the opporunity to give guidance to high school students through creative and educational projects. I asked students to engage in architectural building by constructing a small model of a house with a site. Students also were encouraged to collage within their folders to help generate creative ideas. Students in the college mentorship were given access to resources on 10 different college readiness sessions.
